Who is Narendra Modi?
Narendra Modi is former chief minister of Gujarat, and now prime minister of India, representing the BJP. He is a self-declared Hindu nationalist.
In the words of his supporters, he is a "dynamic administrator", a "visionary", "principled", "patriotic", and "one of the most affable and sought after politicians in India". Some even call him a God (see the last FAQ for sources). For others, he is an enemy of democracy − a fascist even − who presided over, and was complicit in, one of the worst episodes of communal violence in recent history.
The remaining FAQs and links examine different aspects of Modi's record and leadership in more detail.
