Facebook 'like' case: No evidence of sedition, govt tells HC

'No evidence was found during a preliminary enquiry against the man booked for sedition and insulting national honour for a Facebook 'like', state government informed the Kerala High Court on Tuesday. The submission was made during the hearing of a petition filed by KH Muhammed Ali, a native of Eloor and an employee of Dubai Municipality, challenging the FIR registered by Eloor police based on city police commissioner's direction. During his stay in Dubai, Muhammed Ali had befriended few co-workers, including Pakistani nationals. In the FIR filed against him by city police in September last year, it is alleged that he clicked 'like' on a Facebook post 'I Like Pakistan', which also insulted the national flag...'
