'A dalit professor from Lucknow has faced the ire of the Rajya Karamchari Sahitya Sansthan (State Employees’ Literary Association) for a Facebook post criticising the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). A large number of people including students from all walks of the society came forward to protest against this on the streets of Lucknow streets on Sunday evening (March 10).

'A teenage girl from Kolkata was allegedly threatened with rape on Facebook for a post on the plight of Kashmiris in the wake of the Pulwama attack, she said Wednesday. In her February 15 post, the Class 12 girl condemned the deadly terror strike in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 40 CRPF jawans, while highlighting the daily hardships of Kashmiris. She said some people asked her to leave the country and go to Pakistan in reply to her post, and others threatened rape and dire consequences.

Veewon Thokchom's plea against his transit remand to Imphal was rejected by a court in the national capital... 'A 25-YEAR-OLD businessman in Bisauli area of Badaun district was arrested on charges of sedition on Sunday. A native of Sambhal district, Raja Khan alias Babloo has been accused of posting the message ‘I support Pakistan’ along with the photograph of a Pakistani flag on Facebook. Khan, who has been running a glass shop in Pathantola locality of Bisauli for the last four months, was arrested from his shop on Sunday. He was produced before the court, which sent him to jail. Police are collecting details of the 20 people who had liked his post and six others who had commented on it...'
'Kerala Police on Tuesday went back on its decision to slap sedition charges on writer Kamalsy Prana and book activist K P Nadir under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) following criticism from the ruling CPM. Prana was booked after a BJP worker complained that the writer had insulted the national anthem on Facebook post by quoting from his novel. Nadir, who is accused of distributing pro-Maoist pamphlets in Kannur in March, was on Monday arrested from Kozhikode Medical College, where he had gone to meet Prana...'
'In a first case of its kind, Rohtak police on Monday booked a Facebook user on sedition charges for allegedly posting derogatory comments against RSS, BJP and Haryana government functionaries. The Facebook user was identified as Surender Duhan, a resident of Jasbir Colony in Rohtak, after cyber cell of the police carried out investigations and tracked his mobile number which was used in creating the account...'
